Livestock, Pasture Management and Agriculture
The Livestock, Pasture Management and Agriculture program's goal is to coordinate extension and research activities for enhanced forage and cattle production in Pasco County. Program Areas: Beef Cattle Production, Pasture and Forage Production and Youth Livestock Education
The South Florida Beef-Forage Program is composed of extension faculty representing Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, and Polk counties, in addition to research faculty and extension specalists located at various research centers and departments at the University of Florida.
A Hasco tag applicator is now available for livestock owners to borrow from the UF-IFAS Pasco County Extension Office to apply the metal "brite tags" to comply with Florida Department of Agriculture official cattle ID rule 5C-31.
